What’s your favorite time of the year? If you ask me in October I will always say the fall. But then again, if you ask me April I will always say Spring. I think we are all just so thrilled for it either to not be so stinkin’ hot or so stinkin’ cold! But for now…let’s’ talk fall ya’ll!

God has blessed us with two beautiful, amazing homes that are perfect for hosting! I have such fond memories as a child always going to my Maw Maw’s house every Thanksgiving. All of the cousins would hang outside in the yard playing cowboys and Indians, hide and go seek, jumping in the leaves, and creating forts in their huge oak trees. While writing this I am reminded of so many relatives that have been lost to us way too early in life that we can no longer create more memories with. My aunt died at 37 and two of my first cousins passed both very suddenly in the last decade. Upon reflections, maybe that is why I really enjoy hosting and creating new memories along the way. We all try to meet up at the Texas house since it is way more convenient than flying to California. We sit outside by the fire pit telling stories, play games, watch football, and of course…EAT AND DRINK! (pics of sitting outside etc)

We completed the Texas home three years ago and I can’t wait to share with you the different looks, color schemes, and tablescapes. If you’re wondering how they all initially come about, it typically starts with Pinterest. Simply go to Pinterest and search Thanksgiving themes, create an album, save all your initial favorite looks, then narrow it down and start shopping! If you are not great at making decisions or you simply just want someone to guide you, I will attach some links of my favs and you can just shop from here! I can help you create the perfect entryway, kitchen decor, fireplace mantle, and of course THE DINING TABLE! I’m going to start backwards and will share with you my current and upcoming Thanksgiving ideas! This year the ideas did not initiate from Pinterest. It all started a year ago while I was hosting everyone at the house. I was in the Gucci powder bath peeing on the fancy toto toilet that not only automatically lifts upon confronting it with your needs, but also has a seat warmer while you’re sitting down! I was enjoying my minute of rest, staring at the wallpaper and golden framed wall decor with quotes like, “You’re Not My Cup of Tea, or Champagne Please”, and all of sudden it hit me! “What about a Gucci Thanksgiving theme?” The wheels started turning and one year later…here we are! I’m more excited about this year than any other year and can’t wait for the look to come together. EPIC! (A special thanks to Carolyn for your help this year) (video that shows the powder bath)
This look is evolving so stay tuned on my IG this November!

I feel like less is more when it comes to kitchen appliances and cooking needs. Buying less but buying quality is KEY! I know there will be exceptions to this, but for most of us ladies we need to keep it real…When was the last time you used your bread maker or deep fryer? A quick challenge to all you ladies out there. Try and do a quick clean out of your kitchen giving away or throwing away all you don’t use before hosting Thanksgiving or even if you’re not hosting this year. It’s incredibly freeing! Here is the rule I use for myself…… For the kitchen, if you haven’t used it in two years, throw it away or give it away. You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full from yesterday’s junk! 🤪

This applies to hosting Thanksgiving or simply having friends or family over this season. The weather is typically so darn nice in October and November, impress your guests and bring it up a notch with some upscale activities. Personally, I’m not a game board person and like more kinetic, hands on games; but my daughter and her peeps LOVE THEM! If someone says, “Amy, do you want to play monopoly?” Me…”I’d rather swim in the lake at night than waste three hours of my life trying to score a boardwalk!” But hey, that’s just me. With that said, I always supply some good options for both types of groups. Some of the fan favs are checkers, chess, pickleball, pool, ping-pong, mini golf, corn hole, and of course GAMBLING…but more on that later. When shopping for inside games, look for options you can keep out all year long. They bring in a touch of fun with a touch of elevated decor all at the same time.

So back to gambling! The last couple of years I hosted a casino night the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and it was such a hoot! You can set up your own black jack tables or hire a company to set it up. After a few cocktails and either fake money or real money on the line, you really see the true colors of your guest come out 😂!

I am so thrilled to share my upcoming 2024 Thanksgiving decor with you all. It truly gets me so excited every day I receive another package in the mail. I just got my tiger napkins after waiting for four weeks and I was like a kid in a candy shop opening them. Have a blessed fall season and remember….”A THANKFUL HEART OPENS OUR EYES TO A MULTITUDE OF BLESSINGS THAT CONTINUALLY SURROUND US!” Message me if you have any questions on your Thanksgiving ideas this year 🙂
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with THANKSGIVING!” Col 2:6-7
To God be the Glory for all the things He has done!
Love you all,
Amy
