So here’s the deal…..no hold bars…….straight to the point!  When God blesses you abundantly with so much material mania, do you really think He did this for you or for others?  My philosophy has always been simple.  What is the point of having all this stuff unless you share it with others?  God has been very clear in His word that He gives us each certain gifts to use on this beautiful earth to further His kingdom.  And it is very clear that our gift is 100% HOSPITALITY.  “As each of us has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s grace.  Show hospitality to one another without complaint.” 1 Peter 4:9

I make sure every room is all set with fresh linens, towels, robes, and bedside water.  I have fresh flowers delivered to the home, as well as a lovely fragrance throughout the house coming from a hotel collection diffuser.  Each guest room has a luxurious five-star hotel mattress paired with premium, high quality linen sheets and dreamy pillows.  Each room is designed to ensure a five star experience and a deep, restorative good night’s sleep.  We also added a Toto toilet to each bathroom (Who needs to open or close your own lid or flush the commode yourself, says nobody ever!)  My friends and family know each room by name and quickly stake their claim!  (The Gucci room, the Chanel, the Chloe, and the most coveted of all, The Hermes room).

A Day In the Life In Paradise | California Home

We make fresh coffee from our Miele coffee system (the beans from Hawaii are our fav), serve mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice, provide quiche, omelets, salad, and chocolate croissants from the local French bakery.  We spend the morning on the outdoor kitchen patio relaxing, eating, drinking, and catching up.  After time passes, the guests peel off one by one, some working out on the peloton or venture into the steam room, some just chill on their ensuite balconies overlooking the ocean, and some literally just go lay in their beds and play on their phones!  Late afternoon, we head to the beach with snacks and cocktails chilling in our chairs listening to music and taking periodic walks up and down the beautiful white sandy beach.  After sunset, we shower and go out to one of the many fabulous spots around town.  The after party upon returning from dinner typically includes a night cap and some time in the outdoor spa.  I am known for mixing up a killer cocktail so my skills need to be precise!  (I make a killer old fashioned).  Joe concludes the night in the spa with one of his hilarious stories and one by one we “hit the hay” as they say.  Now that is what you call……A GOOD DAY!  Side note…while typing this I was thinking, “Dang…..I want to go visit there one day πŸ˜‚.”

Reviews From Our People | California Home

I TEXT SOME FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND ASKED WHAT THEY WOULD SAY ABOUT STAYING WITH US IN CALIFORNIA.  Here are some of their answers:

“Staying with Amy and Joe is like staying at a five star, exotic location with breathtaking views, lovely smells, and amazing friends.”

“It is so surreal. I have never stayed in such luxury before. The view is spectacular, I can’t get over the sound of the ocean as I sleep, and Joe and Amy are so warm and hospitable.”

“Their home has given me so many unforgettable memories with my closest friends and family.  They created the perfect luxurious place to escape and I have tried out each room.  My favorite is the Chloe room as it’s so close to the outdoor shower.  Joe and Amy are the hostess with the mostess even having the entire UCLA men’s volleyball team over where my son played.  There is always delicious food, wine and cocktails, lots of music, laughs, and a place you would otherwise be scared to let your hair down and have fun.  (Side note, Amy is THE BEST at getting wine stains out of the rug).  πŸ·

Their favorite things: Hanging out on the patio.  Taking in God’s beauty.  The beach walks.  The outdoor shower.  The memories we all make together.  πŸ˜ŠπŸ–οΈπŸ˜Š

Favorite Restaurants Nearby | California Home

Live Music – The Drake…..A classic supper club with great food and live music.  We have spent three years here on New Years’ Eve! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Italian – Bottega Angelina in Laguna Niguel (fun atmosphere with fresh pasta),  Alessa’s (right in the heart of Laguna), Mozza’s in Newport (This pizzeria is owned by Nancy Silverton.  It’s all about the crust).

Steak – This is tough as us Texans are serious steak snobs.  Selanne Steak Tavern (local, small spot in town),  Mastros (classic steak house with amazing people watching.  Ask for a table near the piano or the open air courtyard),  Bourbon (part of the five star Waldorf Astoria.  Sit at the bar for a great time and get the lobster pot pie),  The Original A’s in Newport (classy, old school vibes with really quality steak.)

French – Knife Pleat (this Michelin one restaurant serves five courses and I literally love every bite), Marche’ Moderne (classic, upscale French cuisine.  My favorite dish is the COQ-AU-VIN chicken dish)

Sushi – Set (this is a sushi steak place with serious good food and a serious fun vibe.  head to the bar after dinner for a night cap).  Nobu (some people say it’s overrated. I personally love it and the location in Lido Village where you can shop to drop before dinner)

Mexican – South of Nick’s (this is high quality fish and meat.  My fav is the chilean sea bass that I create tacos out of paired with the Reposado margarita with a Grand Marnier floater.  MY MOUTH LITERALLY JUST WATERED WHEN I TYPED THAT)

MY LIST OF RESTAURANTS AND THINGS TO DO IS SO LONG.  JUST SEND ME A MESSAGE AND I WILL RESPOND TO ANY QUESTIONS

TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR ALL HE HAS DONE!
