Some people launch their podcast journey in a tiny studio with a squeaky office chair. Others hit record in their living rooms, hoping the dog doesn’t bark.
Me? I had my very first podcast interview… on an 80-foot yacht in Newport Beach.
Yeah, I’d say that’s one decked-out way to kick things off.
Ocean views, sunshine, and a mic in my face—what more could I ask for?
Well… maybe some champagne. Which I totally brought as a “gift” for the hosts—but let’s be real, I definitely had my own motives.
It all started with a text from my videographer.
He films these two incredible women who run a podcast called The Newport Psycho—but not just any podcast. These ladies host their show every week on a yacht.
Did I hesitate when he invited me? Nope. Not even for a second.
Was I a little shocked? Maybe for a minute. But more than anything, I was pumped.
I mean, come on… a podcast on a yacht?! That’s some serious “main character energy.”
When I showed up, it hit me—this was something special.
First, I had to go through a private gate (feeling very VIP, obviously).
Then, there it was—this gorgeous 80-foot yacht.
The weather? A perfect 70°F. The sun was sparkling on the water like it was personally welcoming me to my podcast debut.
I just stood there for a second, thinking, For my very first podcast interview, this is how we’re doing it? Not too shabby.
Then, it was go time. Mic’d up, settled in, and ready to spill my story.
On the podcast, they asked me: What’s your psycho?
In other words—what’s one thing you’re obsessed with that’s had a huge impact on your life in recent years?
For me, it’s fashion influencing.
I told the story of how I got started:
I was already obsessed with social media, so a few years ago, I started posting more on Instagram.
One day, a random Reel I filmed in my bathroom went viral—and I mean viral. Almost 8 million views viral. (It’s still tagged at the top of my IG!)
That was the moment I realized—wait a minute, I could actually turn this into something big.
Soon after, I started my own business, blending fashion, travel, my love story with my husband, my faith, and my charity, Educate Me For Life.
That was two years ago, and I’ve been running with it ever since.
The interview covered everything—from how I got started in fashion influencing to how I shop luxury for less.
Here’s just a taste of the questions they threw at me:
How did you get into fashion influencing?
What are your favorite stores?
How much do you spend on fashion in a week?
What’s the most expensive purchase you’ve ever made?
Do you shop in-store or online?
What are your biggest tips for buying luxury for less?
What are your favorite brands?
How do you feel about people wearing replicas or fakes of luxury brands?
If you’re even remotely into fashion, luxury, or just love hearing how people hustle their way into the industry, you’re going to want to hear my answers.

One question that really got me thinking was:
What brands do you feel are actually worth the investment?
My answer? Hermès, Rolex, and other high-end designer pieces that appreciate in value. Some increase by 6 to 10% every year!
Luxury fashion isn’t just about looking good—it’s:
An investment—certain Hermès bags, Rolex watches, and high-end pieces are worth more over time.
Wearable art—items designed with craftsmanship that lasts a lifetime.
A legacy—iconic pieces you can pass down to your grandkids (who will thank you when they see the resale value).
When you choose the right pieces, they don’t just sit in your closet—they grow in value like fine art.
Walking off that yacht, I felt this overwhelming sense of clarity.
This is what I love. This is what I was meant to do.
Getting to share my story, laugh with amazing hosts, and talk about my passion—it was proof that I’m on the right path.
Oh, and before I forget—I’ve been busy filming several podcast interviews, and I couldn’t be more excited to start sharing them with you.
I’ve had the chance to sit down with some truly fascinating people—artists, designers, creators, and yes, of course, Joe. 😂 But for my very first interview, I couldn’t have picked a better guest—my dad.
This man isn’t just my hero—he’s an actual Top Gun award-winning fighter pilot. He flew jets in Vietnam, was a captain for American Airlines, piloted private jets, and most importantly—he shared his faith journey with Jesus Christ. That conversation was something special, and I can’t wait for you to hear it.

One Bible verse that truly resonates with me on this journey is:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23
If you have a passion, chase it with everything you’ve got. God gave you those dreams for a reason.
Best,
Amy
